At Cub Creek Therapy, I strive to provide families with the skills and support to help your child achieve success.
The Process

How does this therapy thing work?

Prior to starting therapy, I will conduct an assessment to create an initial treatment plan for insurance. The treatment plan itself is a fluid document. Assessment is ongoing where goals evolve and change, as we build your child’s tool box.
Getting Started
Yay… we got approval! Obtaining insurance approval can sometimes take a couple of weeks.

This is where we get into the nitty gritty. I compare myself to a personal trainer. I have expertise in how to increase your child's skills and you know your child best! Together, we are going to combine our knowledge to develop a plan. Just like a personal trainer, I listen to your needs, to what will work and what will not work for you (let’s face it, a juice cleanse is not for all of us … Just like there is not one cookie cutter intervention plan that works for each child). My goal is to work with you and individualize the treatment plan to meet your child’s needs.
Treatment Goals
Part of creating treatment goals is assessment and figuring out how your child learns best. We assess to see what tools we already have in our tool box and the skills we need to build on. I will be meeting you and your child at your starting points. It will be a journey that will leave you and your child feeling empowered as we continue to build on your child's successes.

Getting To Know You
Now you're saying to yourself, "this lady is coming to my home and what should I expect?"
I am going to borrow a slogan, “There is no judgement here”. My goal is to meet you and your child at your starting point and be a part of your family's journey in achieving success. I will begin my first few visits by showing your child that I am fun to be around. I can play a mean video game (side note, I still have no idea what is going on in Minecraft). We'll build towers, play silly games, pop bubbles, jump on the trampoline, make a blanket into a swing, chat about their interests and hobbies and more. In short, I learn about your child’s interests and make them my own.

My goal is for you and your child to welcome my visits. You and I will be discussing what is and isn't working to make those all so important revisions. For your child, I'd like for them to understand that they may have to work on some difficult tasks. However, they'll also know that they'll get the opportunity to do some really cool stuff when I arrive.

Testimonial
I really don't have words to express my gratitude that I have for finding you. You were truly an answer to our prayers. I really believe we wouldn't be where we are with out you.
